How hackathons strengthen education

Post by bitheerani319 »

To provide a unique and incredible experience to our students from the Software Engineering and Innovation study program , we use one of the most powerful "tools" for acquiring knowledge, tackling challenges, and solving real problems, stepping outside the traditional classroom environment - participating in a 48-hour live hackathon.

What the students of Brainster Next College additionally gained as value was that for the first time they had the opportunity to work with students from our founder's academies, Brainster, to meet new colleagues and feel how important all aspects of programming are to becoming a software engineer, to test their knowledge, but also to learn something new.

The largest Brainster live hackathon with 140 participants
But it all started with the largest Brainster live hackathon, which rcs data israel included students from 5 Brainster academies – UX/UI Design, Front-End, Full-Stack, Software Testing & Project & Product Management, and which counted over 140 participants. The race for the best solution took place at Brainster’s premises, for the client SCiDEV Albania , and our 16 registered students experienced this type of education for the first time.

They, united in 8 teams, worked with colleagues from Brainster Academies on the development of an educational web platform, which as a final solution will represent a unique platform of its kind for students.

The hackathon gave our students the opportunity to work in groups, encouraging collaboration, effective communication, and teamwork. For most of them, this is the most valuable thing they will take away with them. Some of them told us how they felt while working, what they faced, and were overjoyed that we had the chance to make friends with them and give them their certificates.

David Petkovski and Martin Cvetkoski are the students from Brainster Next College who were in the winning Team 8 that offered the most inventive solution for the client and together with colleagues from Brainster Academies, Blagoj Gjorgiev, Monika Milenkova, Joana Karadakovska, Pande Bojadziev, Gjorgi Velkovski, Andrijan Tasevski, Igor Talevski, Konstantin Jovick, Eleonora Bogdanovska, Elvir Iljazoski, Filip Gjorgievski and Sanja Boceska, in the next period they will have an even greater challenge - finalizing the platform that will be selflessly shared for use with other organizations for educational purposes.
