Read/Write Performance Differences

Let's take a look at the performance differences of storage devices. It's clear that Solid-State Drives (SSDs) and Hard Disk Drives (HDDs) have vastly different read and write speeds.

SSD: Sequential read speed up to 3,500 MB/s, write speed up to 3,000 MB/s
HDD: Continuous read/write speed is usually 80-160 MB/sec.
IOPS: SSDs can do over 100,000 IOPS , while HDDs are limited to 100-200 IOPS.

This lower power consumption also means less heat is emitted, typically 30-50% less than HDDs, which helps manage overall system heat better and may even extend the lifespan of the components.
