I often hear friends and associates complain, feeling like they've failed: "Look at how much he charges for his services, his seminar!"
What I reply is: "How much money someone asks for doesn't tell us anything about whether even one person bought what they're selling at that price!"
For example, I know architects and interior designers who advertise jobs for which they were not paid – or received crumbs.
I also see a lot of useless people (and scammers) who appear on TV shows, impersonating authorities, simply because they have connections or are paying.
I once fell for one of those, who pretended to be a computer technician, when greece mobile database he didn't know his stuff. Maybe he just opens laptops and dusts them off!
But guess what! Not only did I never trust him with my computer again, but I warned everyone I know and don't know not to fall for him.
Digital, virtual reality has led many professionals down this path. They try to pretend to be something they are not.
No, it is not enough to pretend to be successful, talented, sought-after on Instagram to have clients lining up outside your office.
If things were that easy, then we would all be living in wealth and luxury!
If you pretend to be something you are not, if you advocate something you do not believe, you will fail in the long run. It is something that is quickly revealed and creates a bad impression.
The secret to selling our services or products is to first be convinced of their value and be excited about what we offer.
Marketing is about pretending to be successful!
