Did we mention that reshares are good for SEO ? Moz blog readers know that the more people engage with a post, the better your blog or site will look to search engines. And that’s just one aspect of the overall SEO boost (and traffic boost) that resharers can see.
How re-sharing affects SEO.
Big brands are probably the most likely to reshare content. Heck, they don't even think twice about it :
BuzzFeed is a great example of the value chile number data repeating social updates, because they don't need to.
Social sharing alone has an impact on SEO, but social engagement is really where it’s at. Quality content is worth the time and cost right up front, but only if it gets engagement! If you just increase the exposure of your content, you increase the chances of engagement with your content. This is what re-sharing does so well.
With literally zero changes to the content, BuzzFeed doubled the value of each of these social posts. Chances are, the people who saw these posts the first time they were shared aren’t the same people who saw them when they were reshared.
So why do they still do it? Because it gets results.
