The choice of product for treating a wooden house depends on the climatic features of the region, the type of wood and the tasks at hand.

Special requirements are imposed on products for external treatment: they must be resistant to the effects of natural factors and must also provide a high level of wood protection.

There are several groups of products designed to protect a wooden house:

Antiseptics. The main function of antiseptic canada mobile database is to protect wood from moisture and dampness, from rotting and various types of biological damage (fungi, mold, insects, microbes). There are two types of antiseptics. Impregnating compositions penetrate deeply into the structure of wood, covering antiseptics form a protective layer on the surface. This group includes impregnating solutions, waxes and oils for wood. Antiseptic treatment of wood is done in any case, even if subsequent finishing of the facade with decorative materials is assumed.
Fire retardants. These agents provide fire protection for wood, which is highly flammable. Logs impregnated with fire protection can withstand the effects of open fire for several hours without igniting.
Preservatives. Such impregnations improve and maintain the good condition of wood. The preparations prevent cracking, maintain the smoothness of the surface, and create a water-repellent barrier.
Protective and finishing agents simultaneously perform protective and decorative functions. These agents include varnishes and paints for wood, which protect wood from adverse effects and decorate the wooden surface.
Before impregnating the timber with protective compounds, it is necessary to carry out preliminary preparation of the surface. If the treatment is performed on an old house, first it is necessary to clean the walls from dirt and dust with a brush. Then, using coarse sandpaper, remove the old paint and varnish coating, blued areas of wood and fungal formations.

Next, the surface is sanded. For a fresh log, this is the first operation. Sanding is necessary to remove visual defects and for better and deeper penetration of impregnating compounds into the wood.
