The Evolution of Antibiotics: What Are Antibiotics and How Do They Work? Part 1

Post by zakiyatasnim »

Before the advent of antibiotics, 30% of deaths in the US were due to bacterial infections. In 2018, the market was valued at $42.6 billion. How antibiotics work, in whose skeletons were they first discovered, and why penicillin was not the first antimicrobial.

The WHO today calls antibiotic resistance one of the main taiwan number data risks to global health. For example, pneumonia, tuberculosis, gonorrhea and salmonellosis are becoming increasingly difficult to treat. It is expected that by 2050, superbugs will kill far more people than cancer. Currently, 700,000 people die every year due to antibiotic resistance.

Who are bacteria?
Bacteria are microscopic, single-celled organisms that thrive in favorable conditions. The first of them existed on Earth about 3.4 billion years ago. The secret of the success of microorganisms is that they are excellent at adapting to environmental changes. Bacteria can live in the soil, the ocean, and in the body, including the human body.

Thanks to natural selection, the next generation of bacteria will inherit the best qualities of their parent cells. Microorganisms do this better than humans because they produce new offspring every 20-30 minutes, while humans produce new offspring about every 20-30 years.
