Attractiveness as an employer:

Post by samiul12 »

Individual competence vs. compliance?
From my own observation: While the pandemic initially seemed to trigger a digitalisation push in at least some areas, many companies are now still using makeshift solutions that are difficult to reconcile with compliance and efficient systems. Quickly switching to video conferences and enabling file transfers is not digitalisation.

On the other hand, many employees have long since moved viber data on from official corporate communications. They exchange information quickly and easily in their personal networks via messengers. They use mobile technologies and apps. They are at least privately versed in research or ordering processes. They try out AI applications even if this is not yet an issue for their employer. In any case, they are always perceived as brand ambassadors as soon as they are recognizable as company employees - regardless of whether there is any awareness of this within the company.

In an ideal corporate environment, the skills and experience of these people could help to jointly develop and implement technologies. However, this requires supplementing missing knowledge and ensuring quality at all levels.

Social Media Literacy as a Mandatory Program
But if the official apparatus is too cumbersome, the digitally experienced, but not always equally problem-sensitive people in the company often create bypasses on their own, which can then open up dangerous security gaps or be problematic in terms of data protection law.

An example: If there is no official messenger, no good and easy-to-use fast communication channels in the company, private WhatsApp groups are set up. Employees are treading on thin legal ice to secure their ability to work and thus the success of their employer on their own. This is absurd. - Many other examples could be given.
