Tips to increase productivity when working from home
Set limits
Sometimes when you work from home, it can feel like everything is coming together: kids, work, and personal. It's important to set boundaries so you have more control and are less likely to burn out. Talk to your employer about establishing a flexible work schedule, set designated available/unavailable times with your partner and kids, and schedule regular dates with friends and for personal activities.

Identify peak work hours
Before you had kids, you probably had a standard 9-to-5 work schedule. Nowadays, you need to be more flexible to accommodate nap times, school pick-up times, etc. Pay attention to the times of day when you can generally focus on work. Maybe it's 8-10 in the morning and then 7-8 in the evening. Whatever it is, these are the golden times—take advantage of them.

Group similar tasks to do them all at once
Be strategic about when you choose to do things. For example, make all your phone calls in succession so you can knock them all out at once. Or spend a morning catching up on all your personal tasks so you can spend the rest of your child-free time on work projects.

Tackle the small tasks first
This tip is similar to the snowball method for paying off credit card debt (paying off smaller debts first to gain momentum). Similarly, if you take care of smaller tasks first, you'll feel great about checking them off your to-do list instead of struggling all day to finish one big task. You'll be surprised at how effective this little mental trick can be in boosting your productivity level when working from home.
