Since the outbreak of the corona pandemic, millions of working people have switched to working from home - and have not yet returned to the office. Currently, one in four (25 percent) works exclusively from home. That corresponds to 10.5 million working people. This applies at least partially to another 20 percent (8.3 million), i.e. not on all working days per week. In total, almost one in two (45 percent) currently works at least partially from home. This is the result of a representative survey of 1,503 employed people in Germany aged 16 and over commissioned by the digital association Bitkom. Even after the end of the corona pandemic, many more people will work from home than before. According to Bitkom calculations, more than one in three (35 percent) will choose their place of work flexibly.
That corresponds to 14.7 million working people. 3.2 million (8 percent) will myanmar gambling data work exclusively from home, another 11.5 million (27 percent) partially. Before the pandemic, working from home was more of an exception. Only 3 percent of working people (1.4 million) worked exclusively from home, another 15 percent (6.3 million) partially. In general, more than half (55 percent) of working people see their work as at least partially suitable for working from home. One in five (21 percent) believes they could even work entirely from home. In contrast, 43 percent say that working from home is fundamentally out of the question for their job.
"The corona pandemic is the trigger for a profound and lasting change in the world of work. After the lockdown in the spring forced the vast majority to switch to home office, the vast majority have had predominantly positive experiences in recent months," says Bitkom President Achim Berg. "The corona crisis has shown that flexible working does not reduce the quality of work results - on the contrary. Working independently of time and place can bring advantages to all sides, but this requires a profound cultural change in the world of work. The change in the world of work must now be proactively supported politically and with incentive systems for employers and employees."
