Job advertisements in newspapers are a thing of the past: The internet offers HR professionals and job seekers many more options. Recruiters from companies and agencies have long been using social media to specifically search for talent and reach out to candidates directly. They are thus practicing social media recruiting, i.e., recruiting employees via social media. Companies no longer use only the business networks XING and LinkedIn, but also Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. The term "social recruiting" for this type of employee recruitment is also common among HR professionals.

A prerequisite for social media recruiting is a presence on social networks that match the target audience. Some companies also have a separate careers page on Facebook and/or LinkedIn, for example, and populate it with italy phone number data relevant content. This includes notices of open positions and information about the application process, as well as insights behind the scenes of the company. Employer branding and social recruiting converge on such a page: Companies present themselves as attractive employers and thus indirectly appeal to potential new employees. This is complemented by the direct, i.e., active search for and approaching of potential candidates.

Social Recruiting Strategy
Ideally, companies pursue a targeted social recruiting strategy in their HR marketing. This strategy should be integrated into their overall marketing efforts.

The overarching goals are:

to present yourself to the target group in social media as an attractive employer,
so that attention and
to generate more applications, namely
of more suitable candidates.
As is common in marketing, these goals are broken down into smaller objectives and also incorporated into targeted campaigns.

To check whether goals are being met or whether adjustments are necessary, the social media manager regularly conducts KPI analyses. In addition to the usual KPIs such as reach and engagement (see also: Marketing KPIs ), the number of applicants is also included.

Active Sourcing
Many users aren't actively searching for job openings. But even those who, for example, have listed "Open to Work" on their LinkedIn profile still need to be found first. With active sourcing, recruiters specifically search for potential candidates for open positions on social media platforms like LinkedIn, XING, and others like Instagram and contact them directly.
