Before the PSR recommendations were written and released, there was no shared way to write program code, everyone used their own conventions and style. Many companies, or work groups, invented their own standards, guidelines for writing code that were specific to a specific company or work group.
FIG. Framework Interoperability Group
The recommendations PSR were written by the FIG, which stands for Framework Interoperability italy mobile database Group. Previously it was called “PHP Standards Group". The FIG was born on the occasion of the PHP[TEK] 2009, a meeting where the need to create a shared standard for writing program code emerged strongly.
The members of the FIG They are representatives of different frameworks PHP, platforms of Content Management System, package developers, tools, etc… FIG It also arises from the need to have a heterogeneous group that represents the entire PHP community and not just a small group of developers.
The founding goal of the group is to define writing standards, in reference to a defined list of aspects of programming. PHP, like i autoload, the writing style, interface definition, etc.
