The phenomenon of fake news probably partly explains the lack of trust and interest in information. In France, 62% of respondents say they have been confronted with “information that distorts the truth or is false” more than once a month, and nearly 1 in 2 French people once a week or even more.
Those under 35 feel more likely to be confronted nigeria cell phone number list with fake news (78% vs 57% for those aged 35 and over, more than once a month)
In this scourge, three actors should be able to act against the spread of fake news. journalists (36%), media regulators (34%) and citizens themselves (31%). The government only convinces a small quarter of the French (23%) in this role.
Teachers and academics are at the bottom of the ranking (4% and 2% respectively). it would probably be interesting to question the relevance of media education as it is delivered today as well as the means and space given to researchers on these subjects to arrive at such low figures.

BuzzFeed is laying off dozens of journalists ; there is also a social plan in the editorial offices of Gannett , the leading US press group; Verizon is cutting its media staff . -7% ; there are also layoffs at the Huffington Post.
