One in three people fails in Internet research

Post by bhasan01854 »

How do you protect your data on the Internet ? Which online sources are trustworthy? What can you do if your smartphone doesn't do what you want it to? Questions like these still pose insurmountable hurdles for many people.

A large proportion of German citizens find it difficult to move confidently and independently in the digital world. This is the result of a representative study on the occasion of the first nationwide Digital Day on June 19, 2020, according to the "Digital for All" initiative.

According to the study, although three-quarters of indonesia gambling data the majority (74 percent) say they can operate and use technical devices such as smartphones or computers as long as no errors or unexpected events occur, one in four (23 percent) cannot do this. Six out of ten Germans (61 percent) usually find the information they are looking for online. 37 percent are unable to do this.

Another 60 percent are able to install programs and apps, while the rest (37 percent) fail to do so. While 57 percent adjust their data protection settings individually, 39 percent do not. One in two (50 percent) can assess the trustworthiness of an online source, while about the same number (46 percent) do not dare to do so.

And 46 percent are able to classify error messages and technical problems that occur on their own devices and solve them themselves, while 49 percent are puzzled by this.

"The picture is divided. On the one hand, many people in Germany say that they can find their way in everyday digital life, use media and technology in a reflective manner and even solve technical problems," says Anna-Lena Hosenfeld, project manager of Digital Day.
