This is the result of a survey conducted by the digital association Bitkom among 1,005 people in Germany aged 16 and over. According to the survey, all cell phone/smartphone users in Germany over the age of 16 receive more than 810 million text messages every day, and this figure is expected to rise to 300 billion in 2021 as a whole. According to Bitkom surveys, 88 percent of people over the age of 16 own a smartphone or conventional cell phone - that's around 61 million people.
