Tips from Google on Safer Internet Day

Post by zakiyatasnim »

Today, when you open the Google Search homepage, you probably noticed a message that the whole world is celebrating Safer Internet Day.
People around the world use Google products every day to help them do everything from teaching online classes with Workspace to paying for coffee with Google Pay. Today, people are concerned about threats such as hacking and fraud related to COVID-19 and beyond.

Protecting our users online means constantly protecting their security and privacy, and Google is committed to keeping your personal information safe. The security of their products is guided by three core principles: taking responsibility for your information, protecting it with world-class security, and taking control of your security.

Did you know? Every day, Google Pay encrypts payments for 150 million norway number data people, Google Meet protects 7.5 billion meeting minutes, Google Photos encrypts over 4 billion photos, and Google Search blocks over 25 billion spam pages from search results.

Here are some simple steps you can take today to better
1. Take the Google Security Checkup

Taking the Security Checkup not only helps you stay safe when using Google, it also provides helpful tips to help you stay more secure online, like reminding you to add a screen lock to your mobile phone and showing you which sites and apps you may have signed in to using your Google Account. Go to g.co/securitycheckup to take the Security Checkup.

2. Use unique passwords for your accounts

Using the same password to sign in to multiple accounts increases your security risk. Create a unique password for each account to eliminate this risk, and make sure each password is difficult to guess and contains at least eight characters. Go to the Password Manager in your Google Account, and view, change, and delete saved passwords.
