“I started my blog before coming to Spain and since then I started working online”

Post by bitheerani319 »

One of the main benefits of working as a blogger is the possibility of doing it from anywhere in the world; something that the young English woman, Tamar Lumsden, knew how to take advantage of strategically to be able to fulfill - together with her partner - her great dream: to live in the rural area of Granada . So it was that after learning Spanish, Tamar started her blog, began to work online and set off on her new life.

How long have you been living in Spain? Why did you choose this destination?

In the summer of 2015 we quit our jobs, sold the rcs data pakistan and made the big move to Spain. My husband and I had spent a year in Granada learning Spanish and working as English teachers. We fell in love with Granada and knew it was where we wanted to live. We decided we wanted a rural lifestyle and started researching the small towns in the Granada province . That's how we found a little house in Montefrío.

Did you have a job when you arrived? How did you get one?

I started my blog, www.beesthatbuzz.co.uk before coming to Spain and have since started working online: designing websites and blog templates. Working this way made the move to rural Spain possible and also gives me time to renovate our farm and raise our son.

What has struck you most about the customs or lifestyle of the place?

I love the importance of family and children in Spain. In England there are bars and restaurants where small children are forbidden and because of that, it can be difficult to go out for a meal. Here children are more welcome. The other difference is the pace of life. In England everyone is in a rush, to do everything. In Spain there is a chance to breathe and do things at your own pace.

What do you think is the most difficult thing about the experience of living abroad?

Learning a language is hard. We can get by with the basics, but when it comes to renovating the house, or when the car breaks down, technical language is difficult and there are a lot of new words to learn!
