So, here are some simple steps to animate text in PowerPoint.

Add your text to the presentation.
Edit the text as you wish.
Go to the "Animation" tab at the top and select it.
Click on the desired animation and select it. You can choose from those displayed or, on the right, you can select "Add animation".
Set the animation duration.
Choose whether you want to make the animation automatic or trigger it by clicking on it.
Select the desired delay.
Animation preview.
Save the presentation and you're done.
