The majority of users attach importance to having the most up-to-date device possible: six out of ten (63 percent) who bought their smartphone privately did so in the past twelve months. A good quarter (26 percent) bought their device in the past six months. 38 percent say they always want the latest model. The most important criteria when buying a new device are the quality of workmanship, particularly a robust display (91 percent each), as well as the battery life and price (88 percent each).
