Unnecessary feature vs profitable tool: does your business need a chatbot?
A chatbot is a tool within a messenger that conducts a dialogue with users according to a pre-programmed scenario. Depending on the user's choice, different branches of the dialogue are launched: answering questions, viewing the assortment and prices, signing up for a service, finding the nearest outlet.

Chatbots can be roughly divided into four groups:

entertainment - they send horoscopes, create music compilations, and generate funny "harmful" advice;
informational - with a given frequency, they send out news or the best blog articles, track brand mentions on the Internet, and select accommodation based on given criteria;
consultants - answer frequently asked questions, help order dinner with delivery japan rcs data or choose your clothing size, calculate the cost of delivery;
Sales - segment potential customers, make personalized offers with a time limit, remove objections using answers to questions and cases, and help place and pay for orders.
For engagement, community building, and brand promotion, entertainment and informational chatbots are suitable. If you need to increase sales, focus on the last two types of chatbots. For comprehensive development of messenger marketing, we recommend using a mix of all four types. Later in the article, we will show examples of such solutions.

Important: chatbots do not replace, but complement, real employees.

To make the decision to create a chatbot rational, not emotional, answer the following questions:

Why does a company need a chatbot, and how will you measure its effectiveness (in terms of application processing speed, number of leads, LTV growth)?
Why would potential and existing customers subscribe to a chatbot?
What functions need to be implemented so that the chatbot satisfies customer and business requests (answering questions, calculating costs, searching for information, collecting primary information and transferring it to CRM, placing orders and making payments)?
Are there people within the company who will create a chatbot and develop it, or do you need to involve external resources?
How much money is the company willing to invest in implementing a new tool?
If the brainstorming has shown that the chatbot will bring enough benefit for a reasonable investment, start creating it. Below is a step-by-step plan.
