The first installment of the long-awaited 13th salary is arriving by November 30th for workers under the CLT regime across the country, offering a financial “push” for consumers and a new boost for the economy.
But what is the 13th salary, how important is it and who is entitled to it? In ukraine phone number list article we will answer these and other questions so that everyone can make the most of this year-end bonus.
What is the 13th salary?
According to the law established in July 1962 , the 13th salary is an annual salary bonus, also known as the Christmas bonus, which provides relief in the household budget.
Payment of the bonus is mandatory and can be made in up to two installments , the first by November 30th and the second by December 20th.
Who is entitled?
Every CLT worker who worked for 15 or more during the year is entitled to the 13th third, unless he was fired for just cause.
And within the regime provided for in the Consolidation of Labor Laws (CLT), there are workers with signed employment contracts and public servants, INSS retirees and pensioners, rural workers, self-employed workers and domestic workers.
What about interns? Unfortunately, internship contracts are not part of the CLT regime , therefore, they do not require payment of the 13th salary.
How to calculate the bonus?
Calculating the value of the 13th is very simple: just divide the gross salary by 12 (months of the year), taking into account overtime, additional hours and commissions, and multiply by the number of months worked.
In other words, if an employee's monthly salary is 3,000 reais, not including additional payments, and he worked for 7 months, the 13th salary will be 1,750 reais.
