5 steps to define your value proposition or Unique selling proposition

Let's go for the recipe for the perfect Unique Selling Proposition. We'll explain it to you step by step so that you have the perfect recipe.



The first thing you need to develop a good Unique Selling Proposition is to know who you are targeting or, as we marketers say, to know your buyer persona (if you don't know what we are talking about, take a look at our Complete Guide on How to Create Your Buyer Persona ). Once you have this sorted out, we will move on to point number 2.

The next step is to define your product (what you do and how you do it) in words that your audience can understand.

Re-read the previous two points and you will find the problems that your ameriplan email list products or services solve and the benefits that they bring to your audience.

Compare your results with your competitors and base your USP on where you stand out . If you find that your Unique Selling Proposition is too similar to the rest, go back to points 1 and 2. Your proposition must be inimitable, for whatever reason, but inimitable.

Add a pinch of emotional marketing to create bonds with your audience and shake things up with energy.


And voila! You now have your Unique Selling Proposition ready to be served.

If you find that it is a bit heavy, strain it to make it lighter. You know, the shorter and simpler it is, the better it is digested.
