1. Prospects and trends in the development of the exhibition business in Russia.
The exhibition business in Russia is in the stage of intensive development. Currently, more than 80 exhibition associations are actively working in Russia, the number of enterprises participating in exhibitions is constantly growing. About 10% of firms annually participate in more than 10 exhibitions in various regions of Russia.

At the same time, an increasing number of Russian enterprises are trying to present their products at foreign exhibitions. In 1996, for the first time since the beginning of perestroika, Russia took part in the Green Week exhibition (Berlin), where it presented a small stand with booklets. In 1997, Russia was represented at the Green Week exhibition by 8 enterprises. In 2002, Russian enterprises presented their products at more than 120 major foreign exhibitions. For example, 27 Russian companies participated in the SMM exhibition (Hamburg), 25 Russian companies in the SIAL-2002 exhibition (Paris), and 15 companies from St. Petersburg alone in the Green Week exhibition.

The dynamics of the exhibition business development require Russian companies to form their own exhibition policy, qualified exhibition management and marketing. Every year this problem becomes more and more urgent: enterprises that spend considerable funds on presenting their products at exhibitions and do not receive adequate efficiency are ready to invest money in high-quality exhibition marketing.
