Why did you decide to leave your city?
When I was 17, by family decision: we came from our homeland here to Madrid, in search of a better future.
When did you arrive in Madrid?
I arrived in Madrid on December 4, 2004. I still remember the change in temperature, it was one of the coldest winters here in Madrid and I will not easily forget it.
Did you find it difficult to adapt to your new life?
Adapting to life was difficult at first: many changes and everything that entailed. I was in my teens and, at first, everything seemed totally unfamiliar to me. A new city, a system of government and social functioning that was completely different from what I knew, new horizons, new friendships, new goals, the distance from my beloved land, my friends and family… In short, I was often overcome with nostalgia, a feeling that I experienced for years.
