The popular Japanese resort has more than 100 hot springs, the temperature of which sometimes reaches +100 C. Every day, they produce about 13 thousand tons of mineral-rich geothermal water. They contain various combinations of magnesium, iron, radon, sulfur and other elements.

Beppu Thermal Springs

are small thermal lakes, hollows with bubbling mud, gushing geysers and waterfalls from which clouds of steam rise. Interestingly , to remove the specific sulfur smell of thermal water, the owners of local baths often add flowers and fruits to the pools.

The eight Jigoku springs, called whatsapp number database Hell of Beppu, stand out as particularly picturesque at the Beppu resort. They are too hot for bathing, but attract vacationers with interesting special effects. For example, the water of the Umi Jigoku spring has an azure hue of the tropical sea and its name translates as Sea Hell. The color of milk is found in the water of the White Pond Hell. Iron oxide gives the water of the Blood Pond Hell its sinister bloody hue.

The Devil's Mountain Hell is surrounded by tropical thickets. There is also a crocodile farm here. Mountain Hell is filled not with water, but with mud, and the Buddhist Monk's Hell also greets tourists with mud emissions.

The oldest Takegawara hot spring was opened in the city back in 1879. To this day, it continues to operate, offering visitors not only thermal baths, but also sunaburo sand baths, in which patients are buried up to their necks in hot sand.

Beppu Thermal Springs

Food cooked in thermal waters is especially popular in Beppu. Here tourists are offered to taste mineral-enriched fish and vegetable dishes, as well as chicken eggs boiled in the springs.
