By allowing people to create an online account and save searches or wish lists, you’ll gain a new source of information. Send them related promotions. Often, all they need is a little nudge or incentive to buy.

Start running segmented email campaigns
The most successful marketing is, at its core, a form of customer service. It’s about getting subscribers the information or content they want, when they want it. Email list segmentation allows you to do just that—target your audience more precisely based on their demographics, behaviors, or psychographics.

So make the most of your listeners’ time and attention by limiting the number of campaigns you include them in. And make the most of your own time by automatically collecting relevant information and letting people segment and indicate their interests themselves.

Start with one or two segments. What is one relevant difference that separates some of your customers from others? If you already collect this data, you can start segmenting right away. If not, you may need to adjust your forms or conduct a client survey.

Once you have these groups set up, use them for your next email marketing campaign, tailor the message to each one, and watch your open and click rates improve.
