DKIM mandatory from June 10th

DKIM signature for whitelisting
Since June 10, this CSA requirement has been in effect:
Only mailings that contain a DKIM signature may be sent via whitelisted servers – without exception!

Until June 10, it was possible in justified exceptional cases to send via whitelisted servers without a DKIM signature - provided the sender complied with the clauses of the DDV Code of Honor - but this is no longer permitted as of that date. If this requirement is not met, the server will be de-whitelisted, which in turn would have negative consequences for the delivery rate.

But what exactly is DKIM?
DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM) is one of the most widely used identification protocols to ensure the authenticity of email senders. It was designed to help curb unwanted emails, such as spam or phishing.

And how does DKIM work?
When signing, a hash value is inserted into the header of the email as a DKIM signature on the one hand, and a public key is stored in the DNS entry of the domain on the other.

A hash value is a value with a fixed length, e.g. 128 bits, encoded as a hexadecimal character string. The receiving mail server compares this value with a publicly stored key and checks whether the two match.

The procedure ensures the integrity of the content of the south-africa phone number data email. The content and selected headers are signed using an asymmetric cryptographic procedure, whereby the private key is used to sign the email and the public key is used to validate the signature.

What do you need to do to send DKIM signed mailings?

First, the administrators for your domain(s) must store the public key in the domain's DNS entry. We then enable the signature in the email header for our customers. If you are an AGNITAS customer, we can generate both the DKIM signature for the header and the public key for you upon request.

And why all this?
+ No stranger can send mailings in your name, for example to request confidential customer data.
+ Deliverability increases because your mailings can still be sent via whitelisted servers.
+ Some email providers no longer issue warnings about missing authentication (eg Hotmail).
+ Whitelisting with some ISPs, by adding to the address book (eg Gmail)
+ In some cases it is possible to build up a domain-based reputation that remains intact even if you change email service providers.
