A few days ago, I received a question from a follower about the difference between a Facebook business page and a Facebook group. Since some of you might be interested in the answer to this question, I decided to share the key differences with you today to help you decide which one to use.
What is a Facebook page?
Facebook pages are intended for communication of companies, services, brands and public figures. So not only for personal needs, but also for business. At first glance, pages look like private profiles, you can distinguish them by the fact that you do not need to "request" to be friends, just click on the "like" or "follow" button.
My Facebook page
Facebook page features:
Pages have their FOLLOWERS (or fans, for which there is no limit) and an administrator (or several of them)
The administrator (administrator) is not public, as their posts appear as brand posts
anyone can become a follower, no verification, no limit on the number of users
they are divided into commercial and community pages
has very accurate interaction statistics
Posts are displayed on the user's news feed (so the follower doesn't even have to return to the page to find out what's new with you)
Search engines also read the content on the page , which can be used to advantage for better display on search engines
is the only FB category where we can add special applications and tabs
have an added feature for paid advertising
Advantages:
• A business page is the only place on Facebook where you can create ads
• It looks professional and you can share all the important information about your business on it
• Allows you to create stories , a newer feature on Facebook that is prioritized by Facebook's algorithm
• You can also add a donation button to this page
Disadvantages:
• Not every post will always appear on the news feed, so you can work hard to be visible.
• It's harder to connect with your followers through a business page. Followers can only connect by commenting.
• If you don't post regularly, your Facebook page can look unprofessional.
What is a Facebook group?
By creating a Facebook group , you create a space for interacting with different D5=+354 country code people. It's basically like your profile, except in this case, the people you meet are people who are interested in being there and shouldn't be your friends.
Through groups, you can open discussions, conduct surveys , and even put your products up for sale either through external links or even through a Facebook page where you sell these products.
Facebook groups are intended for internal communication, i.e. a kind of debate circles, societies, crowds that share the same content or interest.
My Facebook group Marketing Academy for Entrepreneurs
Facebook group features:
the group has MEMBERS (who are not/need to be confirmed) and an administrator (or several of them)
members can comment, post, like... at first glance the same functionality as private profiles
posts in groups are personal, the group as such cannot post, the administrator's post appears as his personal post, not as a group post
Search engines do not detect the content of the page, even if it is an open group
there is no limit on the number of users
not as detailed statistics as on a Facebook business page
no option to add specific FB apps and tabs
has the ability to send private messages to members who are also FB friends
Groups can be:
Public - the group, its members, and their posts can be seen by anyone.
Closed - the group and its members can be seen by anyone, but posts can only be seen by group members.
Hidden - only members can see the group and its posts.
Public Facebook groups are often more for fun, for example, for exchanging pictures, selling used clothes, exchanging advice, sharing spiritual and other content...
Closed Facebook groups are the ones that are often used to build a community for business. For your business. This way you get a group of potential customers to whom you can sell your product because they already know you and you have been building a relationship with them for some time, giving them free advice, helping...
