5 IMPORTANT 'THINGS' THAT FOUNDERS NEED TO KNOW BEFORE PLANNING A MARKETING CAMPAIGN

Post by zihadhasan010 »

Many founders, maybe only know marketing – only advertising, only content marketing, only influencer marketing, live marketing. Right?

REMEMBER; “MARKETING IS AN AMPLIFIER IN BUSINESS!”

It will determine whether our business can go up or down!

Studies have found that; Almost 90% of SME founders in Malaysia do not have a marketing plan in their business journey!

This results in 60-70% of SME companies having to go out of business after 3-5 years!

In this post, I want to share 5 important 'things' that can help founders determine the appropriate goals, targets, budget, strategy and metrics for their business.

Table of Contents
#1: Marketing plan
#2: Marketing roadmap
#3: Marketing budget & projection
#4: Marketing target & KPI
#5: High impact & sustainable marketing strategy
#1: Marketing plan
This is the blueprint or overall plan for what you want to achieve with your marketing campaign, in 1 year.

You need to know.

What is your goal?
Who is your target market?
What is your value proposition?
What is your main message?
For example,

If you sell beauty products, your goal might be to increase awareness, the target market might be women aged 20-40, the value proposition of natural and healthy products.

You need to understand what your business's purpose is. Do you want to increase sales? Do you want to introduce a new product? Or do you want to open a market in a new place? Only then can you start to formulate a strategy.

For example, let's say you have a clothing business. For a year, you could plan like this:

Q1 (Jan – Mac):

Focus: Launch of Raya clothing collection.
Strategy: Use influencers to create iran phone data unboxing videos and reviews.
Promotion: Hold a selfie contest with a Raya theme.
Q2 (Apr – Jun):

Focus: Getting ready for Raya.
Strategy: Create a Raya teaser on social media.
Promotion: Early bird discount for those who buy early.
Q3 (Jul – Sep):

Focus: Clearance sale for old collections.
Strategy: Email marketing to let loyal customers know about sales.
Promotion: Buy 1 get 1 free to attract crowd.
Q4 (Oct – Dis):

Focus: Launch of New Year's clothing collection.
Strategy: Collaboration with famous designers.
Promotion: Roadshow in several strategic locations.
Every quarter, you need to have clear sales targets and KPIs. Also, make sure you monitor progress and make adjustments if necessary.
